One jacket, for a lifetime.

Four regions of Japan, joined in a single jacket.

Melton wool from Bishu. Kurozan leather from Himeji.
Jacquard woven in Kyoto. Sewn in Hanyu.

The outside says nothing. The color lives only within.

A Lifetime Asset

Clothes made for a season lose their value when the season ends.
THE URAh was made to do the opposite.
The wool settles to your body. The leather deepens its luster.
Over the years, it becomes a jacket that fits no one but you —
a garment that gains value with every year it is worn.
Ten years from now, it will be yours in a different sense than it is today.

The Sleeves — Japanese Black Wagyu, Kurozan Leather

We use only hides from Japanese Black wagyu raised for food,
so that nothing of the animal is wasted and the hide becomes the finest leather it can be.
In Himeji, craftsmen apply urushi lacquer to the leather by hand, layer upon layer.
Each hide takes months to finish, and only about twenty are made each month.
As you wear it, the lacquer surface wears in, revealing a deep luster and the shadowed texture of the grain.

The Body — Bishu Melton Wool

Woven in Bishu, Japan's largest wool-weaving region,
then fulled again and again until the cloth is dense.
It resists the wind and holds its shape,
keeping the line of the shoulders and chest year after year.

The Lining — Jacquard Woven in Kyoto

Four colors. Each jacket is made in one.

・Kokiake — a deep scarlet once reserved for high-ranking officials of ancient Japan.
・Kinran — named for the art of weaving gold thread into cloth. It changes with the angle of the light.
・Ruri — counted among the Seven Treasures of Buddhism; the most revered of blues. Deep and quiet.
・Moegi — the green of new leaves, worn in court dress since the Heian period.

From the outside, only plain black.
The color is known only to the one who wears it.

Better with every wear.
